Trifari - TKF (kTf)-Clipmates

Gustavo Trifari, an Italian immigrant to the US, may have started his business with an uncle, and called the business Trifari and Trifari, but apparently Gustavo and the uncle parted company within a few years. Gustavo went into business with Leo Krussman somewhere around 1918, and were later joined by Carl Fishel. (Apparently the mark TK in a circle has been found in a 1922 Jewelers' Circular, which would infer than Fishel was not part of the organization at that time.) TKF was an abbreviation for the last names (Trifari, Krussman, and Fishel) and the first substantiated use of this mark, a large T flanked by a smaller K and F, is about 1935. Later, it was decided to use just the word "Trifari" rather than the more cumbersome three names, as the owners felt it sounded elegant and European. A crown has been used with the word Trifari in both the advertising and actually on the signature stamping, usually on the more expensive pieces, though the absence or presence of the crown itself may not be of any significance.

Many collectors feel that Trifari jewelry, especially those pieces from the 1930's-1960, are among the finest pieces of costume jewelry ever produced. Though Alfred Philippe was head designer for many years and signed most of the design patents issued to Trifari, a number of top notch designers worked for the company, such as Alfred Spaney, Norman BelGeddes, Bennetto Panetta, Joseph Wuyts, and later, Marcella Saltz, Diane Love, Jean Paris, Jonathan Bailey, Kunio Matsumoto and Aldo Cipullo. One designer in the 1960's started his own company (Dewees) and after it's closing, returned to Trifari for a short time before retiring. When one reads of the extensive quality control used in the production of the pieces, it is no wonder they often remain as beautiful today as they were when produced. It is interesting to see how, over the years, the same designs were varied, with and without stones, with and without enameling, and in various stones colors if stones were used.

Trifari, like Eisenberg and other companies, began advertising that genuine Trifari was always signed, because of the number of inexpensive copies by jobbers that began to be sold (vintage repros, if you will). However, that doesn't mean that Trifari pieces, from the very beginning of the company, were always signed, only those after a certain time frame (probably the 1940's). And it is always possible that an occasional piece slipped thru unsigned, but that would probably have been pretty rare because of Trifari's quality control.

It is interesting to note that, along with jewelry, signed non-jewelry Trifari items have been found that include watches, belts, hair combs and decorated hairpins, cufflinks, tiaras, compacts, cigarette lighters, sunglasses, and umbrellas. These items should be considered quite rare. Clipmates are Trifari's version of the double clip brooch (duette). Not particularly common, these are, in the viewpoint of the writer, a currently undervalued type of Trifari.

Whether you are looking for the deco pieces of the 1930's, the WWII Retro and sterling styles, the postwar cocktail style, the tailored 1960's pieces often with pearls, the 1970's enamels or the Kunio Matsumoto pieces from the early 1980's, Trifari never disappoints. Even the re-issues that are dated on the pieces from the 1990's are usually well worth having. The thousands of designs that this company produced, in all their many variations, means an incredible legacy of fashion design that is still wearable on a daily basis for most collectors, with a wide variety of looks that will satisfy almost every taste and occasion.

Description: Trifari Kunio Matsumoto Leaf Necklace and Earrings Set - Well known design series, classics that you'll enjoy for years to come. Necklace has five slightly graduated leaves in front; side chains are open links, with a spring ring clasp, 17" x 3/4" (I think you could use the spring ring clasp up higher on the chain if you wanted a shorter length, though technically speaking this isn't an adjustable choker.) Clip earrings are 1.5" x 1" and use the more contemporary clip mechanism found in late 1970's pieces. The earrings are marking Trifari TM on the clip finding, Trifari in an oval cartouche on the body, and one earring is signed Kunio Matsumoto in script. The necklace is marked Trifari TM on the back of one of the leaves and also on the female part of the clasp. Excellent condition.

Description: Trifari Oval Glass Pearl Cabochon Line Bracelet - For those with simpler tastes, this 1960's-1970's bracelet is nice by itself or as part of a grouping of bracelets as is currently fashionable. Set in goldtone, this is 7" x 1/2", with a foldover clasp marked crown Trifari. While this has no copyright symbol, I think this is more likely a case of the company using up older clasps rather than this being 1955 or prior. Other than wear to the plating on the back of the clasp where the signature is, this is in fine shape.

Description: Trifari Green Thermoplastic Pendant Necklace with Clear Pave Swirl - This moss green pendant has an "end of day Bakelite" swirled or marbled effect but I don't believe it is bakelite. Clear pave set in silvertone sweeps around one side and ends at center top. 24" silvertone snake chain. Signed Crown Trifari and ©. Excellent condition. This was also done in black and probably other colors as well.

Item: SN14-1328

•••

Description: Trifari Red Lozenge Stone and Enamel Star Flower Fur Clip - At about 3 1/4" x 1 3/4", this is one of the larger of the 1940's Trifari clips, and was produced in most of the jeweltone colors. The red unfoiled glass stones are absolutely beautiful and would be difficult if not impossible to replace. Pave work looks to be all original and in excellent shape; burgundy and pink enameling is chipped on the center stem and slightly worn at high points other places. Clip mechanism has a little play in it but not bad, but you might want to use "stoppers" to protect it when worn just in case. Marked Crown Trifari. These are getting harder to find.

Description: kTf (Trifari) Emerald Green Glass and Clear Rhinestone Bracelet - Circa mid 1930's, this lovely bracelet has unfoiled green glass octagonal stones that alternate with clear rhinestones that have uniformly greyed, as is usually found for kTf pieces that have the original stones. Silvertone potmetal setting, about 7" x 7/16". Foldover rhinestone set clasp. Excellent condition with greyed clears as noted. Fabulous piece.

Description: Trifari "wave" Necklace in Clear Rhinestone - This design series, which also has a matching bracelet and earrings, was done not only in clear baguettes and small pave rhinestones, but also in jeweltoned baguettes with clear rhinestone. I am certain I have seen this with, for example, green baguettes and probably red baguettes, and there were probably other colors and variations as well. Probably mid-1950's to early 1960's, when many other higher end clear rhinestone pieces were done by this company. Set in rhodium plated metal, this is marked Trifari with © and is an adjustable link style, up to 16.5". Width: a little less than .25" for pave sections, from top of wave to next bottom is about .5". Adjusting tail ends with a clear rhinestone marquise. Plating is so shiny on the back that the picture did not turn out very well! The stones look very white in incandescent and sunlight, some appear slightly yellowed in fluorescent. Original condition with one replacement pave that cannot be found.

Description: Trifari Black and Gold Pierced Bead Necklace with Heavy Clasp - While I believe this ornate clasp was meant to be seen and worn to the side (or even at the front if you desired), it could also be worn to the back. Nested style is approximately 16" for the shortest strand. Foldover clasp finding is marked crown Trifari with © and is goldtone. Classic and classy, excellent condition. Great price!

Description: Trifari Glass Pearl/RS/Goldtone Adjustable Link Choker Necklace - Probably early 1960's, this is a classic Trifari look for that era, with each link featuring 3 pearls, three goldtone leaves and two clear rhinestones. Hook is marked Trifari ©. Oddly, this extends only to a maximum of 13", so perhaps originally intended for a teenager? (I see no signs of alteration.) I would be happy to add goldtone chain in your desired length between the hook and the adjacent link if needed. Very good condition with some of the pearls showing a little wear, but all are original, no signs that any have been reglued and appear to be solidly in place. Great price!

Description: Trifari Versailles Demi Parure in Clear Rhinestone Pave - From the 1959 advertisement: "Touch -of-splendour jewels for your most brilliant evenings". Original cost of these three pieces in 1959 would have been $42.50, not an insignificant amount for costume jewelry in that time period. These pieces were done both with pave and without; with pave is more desirable. The adjustable choker is a curved, linked style, difficult to measure accurately but should be up to 15 1/4" x 1/2"; bracelet is 7" x 1/2", with foldover clasp and safety chain; clip earrings are 1 1/4" x 3/4". (It should be noted that all pieces are marked Trifari without the copyright symbol, so either the "fact" that the advertisement was done in 1959 is in error, or Trifari created post 1959 pieces without the copyright symbol, or they were, in fact, not copywritten.)The heavy rhodium plating on these pieces is in wonderful condition, and the rhinestones on the necklace and earrings are excellent. The bracelet has yellowing on the pave, though it seems to be only noticeable in fluorescent lighting. However, I am pricing this accordingly, at less than what you would pay at other sites for the non-paved version.

Description: Trifari Olivine and Colorado Topaz Rhinestone Bracelet and Earrings Set - RARE. I rarely (sorry) use the word RARE for jewelry, but this design series for Trifari, in this color combination, particularly other than the brooches, are very hard to find. The picture of just the earrings by themselves probably comes closest to demonstrating the rush of color you see in person, but even that photo doesn't do them justice. The clip earrings are 1", the bracelet is 7" x 5/8", with a safety chain and rhinestone set foldover clasp. The olive green stones are all oval, the Colorado topaz pave uses rounds in a couple of different sizes. These use the matte goldtone finish I have only found on the Trifari pieces for this design series. Trifari aficionados will recognize this as the design shown in Cera's "Amazing Gems" in a different color combination. Excellent condition. Marked crown Trifari and ©. This set matches SP1-1198.

Description: Trifari Brown and Hammered Goldtone Bead Earrings - I don't think I have ever seen this Trifari design; I am willing to bet the matching pieces are very nice! Interlocking curls done with both colors of beads headpinned to the frame? though each bead seems to have its own "cup" in the casting. 1 3/8" x 1/2", excellent condition, goldtone setting. Clips are signed crown Trifari; oddly, no copyright mark, as they seem more like post 1955, however I could be wrong as to their date of manufacture.

Description: Crown Trifari Sterling "Dreamshell" Fur Clip - From 1947, the advertisement blurb says "Jewels by Trifari are such exquisite fashion pieces they are usually thought to be real jewels". Notice the rolling clasp for one side of the fur clip that was used by Trifari in the late 1940's. Marked (crown) Trifari on clip mechanism and sterling/pat. pend. on the back edges. Clear rhinestone rounds and baguettes around a glass pearl cabochon in ivory. Slight clouding to some of the rounds, baguettes are excellent, and a very tiny ding to the pearl. Description: Trifari Enchantress Pearl Cab/Rhinestone/Goldtone Hinged Cuff - One of the most amazingly beautiful bracelets that Trifari produced (also done in colored cabochons), this features white glass pearl cabs, rhinestone set leaves, and a heavy goldtone body, done in a cross-over style. About 1 1/2" at widest point in front, gradually tapering to about 1/2" at back center. Beautiful condition. This fits my 6 1/2" wrist perfectly; because of its design I think it would fit up to an average size wrist though it might be a little tight, definitely not for a larger wrist. I think this was designed specifically to be tight as not to "turn" on the wrist and risk knocking the pearl cabs off it you put your wrist on a table or desk.

Description: Crown Trifari "Memo" Brooch in Multi Browns - My photo does not capture the sparkle and dimensionality of this graceful design. Shown in the famous 1961 advertisement captioned "Memo to a smart woman", this design came in various color combinations and originally sold for $7.50. This is in excellent if not mint condition, with marquises in smokey topaz and Madiera topaz rhinestones, and clusters of three round rhinestones in brown aurora borealis. Goldtone setting. 2 1/4" x 1 1/4" at widest points, with the clusters of three stones on a higher layer. Interesting note: this piece is signed simply Trifari with the crown symbol, with NO copyright marking that I can find, so this may call into question the assumption that all pieces with no copyright marking are pre-1955.

I have only had one other of these brooches for sale in the past, to say they are scarce is an understatement, so I am very happy to be able to offer my customers a chance to buy another. Description: Crown Trifari Vanity Fair Earrings - Whether you are looking to add to an existing set, getting an extra pair, or simply want a beautiful pair of earrings to wear, look no further. Classic design, gorgeous stones, exceptional sparkle, these have it all. Silvertone (rhodium) setting, these use the curved clip mechanism that Trifari often used for their more expensive design series. A single center square is enclosed by four clear baguettes, with the outer ring alternating more slightly smaller baguettes with clear octagons. Slightly under 1", slightly domed. Excellent condition.

Description: Trifari Sterling Vermeil Bow Motif Brooch - This piece is marked both crown Trifari and sterling and would undoubtedly date to circa mid-1940's, but I was surprised not to find a patent marking, and was unable to find any patent to match. Lovely design uses rhinestone pave on the inside of the loops and also down the center tail. About 2 1/2" x 2", with the openness of the design giving this an airy, delicate feeling. Condition is very good, with the usual mild scratching/pitting that can be seen on almost all of these pieces through a loupe, however, the gold has worn relatively very little, as opposed to many of these pieces which have gone back to silver. I am guessing that the rhinestones have been re-done, though if it has, it is a very professional job, as I could not find the usual tell-tale signs except that the stones are very sparkly which is not usual for these pieces. 24.4 grams.

Description: Trifari Floral Brooch in Clear Rhinestones - This design was produced in what appear to be a series of three brooches done by Alfred Spaney in September of 1941, of which SP11-1087 (sold) is one of the other two. Spaney's designs are usually quite elegant, and this is no exception. At 3 5/8" x 1 1/2", this is actually larger than it appears, but the openness of the design and the sweeping lines belie its size. Done with small chatons and three larger dentelles, this is silvertone (rhodium plate), and quite three dimensional. One of the dentelles is a little cloudy, and a few of the pave are greying, but all in all this is in excellent shape, and ready for another 75 years.

Description: Trifari KTF (Tkf) Clear Baguette Rhinestone Bracelet - It is hard to believe that this 80 something year old piece is as wearable today as it was when first produced. Art deco transitional styling with baguette set links on the outer rows flanking alternating baguette and tiny round rhinestone links in the center. Ornate clasp has curving pave set terminals linked by a baguette set foldover clasp. Potmetal, nice weight. Marked kTf in usual small letters on the back of a link near the clasp. Very good condition with a few of the small rounds having greyed; one of the baguettes in the clasp is chipped and one looks like it might be a replacement as it is a flatback baguette rather than a pointed back. I would have replaced them but the stones are channel set in a bezeled track and I have opted not to replace in order to avoid further damage. Neither of these issues is noticeable except under close scrutiny. 7" x 5/8", clasp can be worn either on top or underneath depending on your taste.

Description: Trifari Small Sterling Vermeil Crown Pin with Blue Cabs - Signed Trifari, Sterling and Des. Pat. No. 137542, this is from March, 1944; while this would seem to be exactly the same as SP10-1163, it is not. The center stone is a green flatbacked cabochon; this is the only small crown of Trifari that I have seen with a cabochon in the center instead of a pointback stone. Other than that, these seem pretty much the same, with a ruby red oval at the top surmounted by a single emerald green stone, flanked at bottom by two more emerald stones, then a topaz round, the green cab, then a row of red rhinestones over four emerald green baguettes. Single rows of round clears finish the design. 1 1/4" in either direction (approximately); red stones vary in color, from age or interim replacements, I'm not quite sure. Otherwise very good/excellent condition.

Description: Crown Trifari Arrow Brooch - Cupid's quiver? This piece is unusual not only for what it has but what it hasn't. Simply signed crown Trifari, it has no patent number, no pat. pend., not sterling, and is a design I have never before seen. Nice weight, this goldtone piece has four baguette rhinestones at the center with small clear rounds finishing the rest of the "tie" design. The five arrows measure about 3"; about 1 3/8" at widest point. The clear rhinestones are all in good shape, other than a little darkening of the goldtone along the shank of a few of the arrows this is in wonderful shape. Pre-1955, otherwise a mystery. Great piece.

Description: Trifari Flawed Emerald and Clear Rhinestone Earrings - This is one of the few times I have seen Trifari use a "flawed" rhinestone - i.e., there is nothing wrong with the stone, it simply refers to the fact that there are wisps of white in the green, to simulate the effect of a real stone. Both the larger and smaller green stones are dentelle cuts, replacing these would probably be impossible as these are scarce stones. The surrounding navettes, in three sizes, are very bright and sparkly. Set in silvertone, these use again the larger clip mechanism for this time period for Trifari. Marked crown Trifari and copyright symbol, one clip also has a few numbers incised by hand, very faintly, which I assume to be a stonesetters mark or design number. I would love to see the matching pieces for these! 1 1/4" x 1 1/8", excellent condition.

Description: Trifari Three Dimensional Clear Pave Floral Earrings - While virtually all vintage Trifari pieces are nice quality, there are some that rank in higher tiers and these are exceptional. A center half ball is covered in small rhinestones, with upcurving petals also pave set, with some separation by shiny goldtone "veins". Each petal is almost an elongated heart shape, with a ropetwist look going around the edges. These are 1 1/8" in diameter and 1/4" deep, in a weight one equates with top of the line pieces. Shiny goldtone backs are so reflective that you can see my hand and camera from taking the picture! Standard clipbacks are marked crown Trifari and copyright symbol. Description: Trifari Goldtone Pearl and Clear Rhinestone Earrings - I believe I have seen this same design done with cherry red balls instead of pearls for a Christmas look; here we have it in cream pearls and tiny clear rhinestones. Leaves are a matte finish with a shiny goldtone back curl. Excellent condition, any dark look along the edges is simply reflection from the carding. About 1" in either direction at widest points. Standard clip marked crown Trifari and copyright.

Description: Trifari Jonquil and Clear Floral Motif Necklace and Earrings Set - From October, 1951 (pat. #164,715) this necklace (marked Trifari and Pat. Pend. on the foldover clasp) and matching earrings feature jonquil (light yellow) pears and clear baguettes, marquises and rounds. Goldtone setting. Earrings are marked crown Trifari and Design Pat. Pend., using the standard clip findings for the era, though most of those findings are marked with a copyright symbol instead of Design Pat. Pend. For whatever reason the pretty jonquil pears did not come across very well in my photos but if you like yellow you will enjoy this set. Earrings are 3/4" x 1/2", Necklace is about 16" (hard to measure because of the curve). The chain on the necklace shows plating wear, otherwise very nice condition. Trifari used this four pear floral design in many of it's patented designs of the early 1950's.

Description: Trifari TM Enameld Black and Cafe Au Lait Enamel Hinged Bangle Bracelet - A more recent piece, probably 1980's, nonetheless well made and pretty, this combines shiny black enamel with a darker brown enamel that has enough of a lighter brown mixed in (almost a coppery cast) to provide interesting swirls throughout the brown, which predominates the piece (the black is only on the two semi-circles, farthest from centerfront on each side.) Goldtone, sides are a type of rope twist design, excellent, almost like new condition. I have seen a matching brooch on ebay, there were probably a necklace and earrings as well though I have not seen them. About 1" at widest point, 2" x 2 3/8" so average to a little larger wrist.

Description: Trifari Sterling Crown (Smaller Version) - This basic design was done in two sizes; this is the smaller. Marked Trifari, Sterling, and Des. Pat. No. 137542, from March, 1944. The larger version has two rows of rhinestones on each side, this smaller version has one row of rhinestones on each side. Faux opal and faux sapphire cabs are accented with blue and red rhinestones as well as clear, with a row of red baguettes toward the bottom. I replaced a few missing clears; the back side shows wear to the vermeil and a little wave in the pinstem, but it looks great from the front. Excellent price. These are usually priced quite a bit higher even on ebay.

Description: Trifari Fuchsia and Clear Rhinestones Brooch and Earrings - Fuchsia Trifari, it doesn't get much better, does it! This design combines fuchsia ovals with clear pears and rounds. Domed brooch is 1 3/4" in diameter, clip earrings are 3/4" in diameter, making these a nice size for those who feel that typical 60's earrings are too large. Silvertone, rhodium plating, excellent condition. Wear this on a fuchsia blazer, top, or sweater, or your favorite jean jacket, this is elegant enough for almost any occasion but gives a pretty counterpoint to casual clothes as well. I have seen the matching necklace for sale on ebay, there is probably a bracelet somewhere as well.

Description: Trifari "Vanity Fair" Necklace, Bracelet and Earrings Demi Parure - Okay, there is clear rhinestone, and then there is beautiful, amazing clear rhinestones, and these fit in the second category. Octagonal and baguette stones make up this wonderful design, with single square stones in the center of each clip earring. Necklace is adjustable up to 16 1/2", about 7/16" wide; earrings are 1" in diameter. These use the more substantial clip of the 1950's Trifari pieces, rhodium plated (silvertone). Bracelet is 7inches x about 5/8", with a foldover clasp, and is particularly amazing. Excellent, almost pristine condition, this set would be perfect for a bride or anyone who wants a special clear rhinestone set. From 1957.

Description: Trifari Sterling Vermeil Fur Clip with Aqua and Clear Stones - The most lovely, in my opinion, of all of the retro designs that Trifari did in the 1940's, this is, oddly, not a design that I can find a patent number for, and there is no number on the piece. Marked crown Trifari on the fur clip mechanism, the word sterling is tiny but there, on the back of longest paved tendril. Condition - excellent. The tiny clears are much whiter and uniform than my picture would indicate, the aqua unfoiled stones are unchipped. There is mild wear to the vermeil along the edges of the voluted sections, and one small (2mm) nick, as seen in the closeup photo, that is only visible when the piece is held at a certain angle and is not noticeable when worn. 3 1/8" x 2", very dimensional. I have this identical piece in my personal collection and it never fails to get compliments when worn.

Description: Trifari Paved Goldtone Floral Earrings - Difficult to find earrings. These match a Trifari necklace that uses the flowers as the clasp, and the rest of the necklace is 2-3 strands of pearls or other beads. (There are probably a bracelet and brooch as well but I have not seen them, though I have seen a similar brooch). These earrings are just shy of 1 1/2" in either direction, typical crown Trifari with copyright symbol earrings findings. Very good but not excellent condition as the clear rhinestones have uniformly dulled with age, not badly but just enough that I cannot call it excellent. Otherwise no issues, all stones original.

Description: Trifari Clear Rhinestone Brooch and Earrings Set with Navettes and Rounds - Trifari made many pieces using thinner marquises (aka "skinny" navettes) that gave a look of sophistication and elegance to early 1960's pieces that most other companies did not have. All things Parisian were considered very chic in the US, with Jackie Bouvier Kennedy's influence on the fashion community, many French couteriers became even more well known than they were previously. This brooch's pinstem is set so that the piece is to be worn vertically, as in the individual picture, and the frond part of the earring goes up the ear, also as shown in the individual picture. The brooch is 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" at the widest point, earrings are 1" x 3/4". Silvertone, rhodium plate, earrings use usual clip finding. Excellent condition with just a hint of yellow in 1-2 navettes.

Description: Trifari Glass Pearl and Goldtone Leaf Necklace and Clip Earrings Set - Trifari made many pearl set pieces, particularly in the early 1960's, when American women began working outside the home in much larger numbers than anytime previously (except for WWII). Jewelry appropriate for the workplace was popular, and pearls were considered ladylike and businesslike at the same time. Styles ranged from plain, ultraconservative pieces, to higher end "work of art" pieces, such as this set. Link style necklace has a dozen paste set glass pearls in each link, for a total of 96 pearls in the necklace alone. The necklace is curved for a better fit and adjusts up to 18"; matching clip earrings are 1 1/8" x 1". Excellent condition, this is a very flattering set. This design is called "Pine Lake" and was one of the necklaces shown in the Christmas Booty ad from 1960, originally priced at $10.00. Wear this to a MadMen party and absorb the compliments!

Description: Trifari Clear Rhinestone Goldtone Vegetable? Brooch - I have seen this piece described as an octopus, and there is also a very similar Trifari piece with a jelly belly heart on the bottom rather than just a paved hemisphere. I think I have seen this done in enamel and was some kind of vegetable or fruit, but whatever this is, it is beautifully done, and has the feel of fine jewelry. I have searched for the actual patent for these and was not able to find one, but I think these are almost certainly early 1950's. Necklace uses a snake chain with foldover clasp, about 15" x 7/8"; earrings are 1 1/8" in both directions. Brooch is 2 1/4" x 1 3/4". All are in excellent condition, with the brooch showing very mild yellowing of the baguettes. An exceptional demi. Description: Trifari Oval Cabochon Glass Pearl Bracelet and Earrings Set - If you love the timeless look of pearls, this variation should be right up your alley. Set in goldtone, the link bracelet sports three rows of cabs, has a foldover clasp, and is 7" x 3/4". Clip earrings are 1 1/8" in diameter, slightly domed style, and use a more substantial clip mechanism than was usual for this time period. Ear clip finding is marked crown Trifari with copyright symbol, foldover clasp looks like it might have the crown over the T but the full stamp isn't there, marked Trifari with copyright. Excellent condition with just a little of the plating rubbed off along the edges of the bracelet. Description: Crown Trifari Pendant Necklace - Of all of the designs that Trifari did with thermoplastic pendants, this is my favorite of the ones with no rhinestones, because of the clever interlocking design between the v'd neckchain and the heavy plastic pendant. This was done in a number of solid colors (white, black, red, etc.), this is the only one I've seen that has a swirled, "end-of-day" Bakelite look (though I don't believe this is Bakelite.) Pretty brown tones look just like someone put cream in their coffee and started to stir. Excellent condition with just some plating rub loss from the top of the pendant section. Description: Trifari Magnificent Bracelet in Montana and Black Diamond Rhinestone - A late 1950's masterpiece, this is an alternate design in a series shown in Deanna Farneti Cera's "Amazing Gems" book, with multiple sections for articulation and fit, in Montana blue, the only time I have seen this color for these pieces. Done in two sizes of oval stones that alternate with pave set leaves done with black diamond rhinestones instead of clear, all set in a pewtery colored metal. Wide clasp is also rhinestone set, safety chain. Notice that the piece is marked "Copyright by (crown) Trifari", the only piece I have seen that uses this mark, which indicates a post 1955 piece. Some of the blue stones had discolored with time and I have replaced most of the discolored ones to get this back to original as close as possible (though a few of the smaller ovals were impossible to replace due to location under the paved leaves, however, these do not show very much,as you can see from the pictures). 7 1/4" x 3/4", slightly domed. This is a truly rare piece, please note that this will lie flat, but do not force it or you will break the linkage.

Description: Trifari Expandible Dog Collar Pearl Necklace with Fancy RS Clasp and Original Box - First off, I love these clam shell boxes, done in a taupe velvet and lined with cream colored satin. The inside of the box lid says Pearls (simulated) by Trifari, with a crown symbol. This one is in quite excellent shape outside, with only a tiny bit of staining on the satin. The pearls themselves are hand-knotted and in excellent condition, as is the unique rhinestone set clasp, that has both round and baguette stones. Silvertone, both sides of the clasp say Trifari (with crown symbol) and Pat. Pend. I tried to get a closeup of one side, my apologies that it isn't a very clear picture, but I think you can get the idea. BUT the unique part is that both sides have a hidden slide-out portion that would allow the wearer some additional comfort by making it slightly longer if needed when worn. At 12 3/4" wearable length without the expansion, it is pretty clear that this was intended to be worn across the neck (the expansion will add another 1/2") as a dog collar. Think early 1950's, Grace Kelly! The glass pearl necklace is in excellent condition, the pearls are about 8mm, and are cream colored.

Description: Trifari Huge Clear Pave Set Floral Brooch - While Alfred Philippe was head designer at Trifari for many years and signed most of the patent designs for the company regardless of whether he actually designed them or not, this piece was designed by Alfred Spaney, one of three designs similar designs done by him in 1941 for Trifari, and it is by far my favorite of the three. At 4" x 1 3/4" this is quite large, but it retains an elegant, graceful feeling that few pieces of this size have. Signed 129320, Des. Pat. No. and Trifari (there may be a crown there, but the surface is curved so it is hard to tell). Silvertone setting, excellent condition, this is a piece to cherish.

This is signed Trifari, with a crown, on a small applied plaque - without the copyright symbol, so it would appear to be an early to mid 1950's piece. Description: Trifari Faux Alexandrite/Amethyst Rhinestone Necklace, Earrings,Brooch and Bracelet Parure - This design was done by Trifari in a number of colors and color combinations; this is often described as aqua/purple, light blue/purple or lavender/purple rhinestones, but it is in fact faux alexandrite (a color change stone that looks aqua-light blue in some lights, and lavender in direct sunlight) and purple (amethyst). The necklace and bracelet came to me with several of the faux alexandrite stones missing, so I ended up replacing most of the alexandrite rhinestones in order to get a good color match. Set in silvertone, these are now in excellent restored condition. Necklace is adjustable, with hook and tail closure, up to 15"; bracelet is 7 1/4", with safety chain. Matching brooch is 2 1/4" x 2", excellent original condition, clip earrings are 1" x 3/4", also excellent original condition. Description: Trifari kTf Clear Rhinestone Clip-Mates Double Pin (Duette) - Most people refer to these as duettes, but technically Coro used the term duette and Trifari used the term Clip-Mates, which you can see on the signature part of the piece. Two lacey looking dress clips set with all clear rhinestones, silvertone setting. Usual dress clip finding for Clipmates. Slightly over 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" assembled. Marked CLIPMATES and Pat. No. 2050804, clips themselves are marked KTF, dating this to 1936-37. One clip slides off very easily, the other I have not been able to remove for fear of breaking the mechanism. Usual uniform greying of the stones typical of these mid-1930's pieces. Lovely design. Very similar dress clips were patented by Trifari in late 1937 though I could not find this specific one (Patent number on the frame is for the frame itself.)

Foldover rhinestone clasp, 7" x 5/16" wide. Signed KTF (see picture). Silvertone setting. Very slight yellowing/greying of the small clear rhinestones; 9 of the 12 tiny blue cabochons are replacements. This is a graduated design, 1 3/4" at the widest, 3/8" at the back. Foldover clasp, about 15 1/2" long. The pave work is all black diamond rhinestones, with all fuchsia oval rhinestones for the rest of the piece. An ultimate collectors piece to treasure forever.

Description: Trifari Citrine/Topaz Rhinestone Floral Brooch and Bracelet - A color combination that must have been popular in the early 1950's, this uses bright yellow and golden topaz rhinestones, set in a floral motif. The brooch is curved both up and down and front to back to give it a 3-D effect. Citrine pears for leaves, topaz marquises for leaves and clear rhinestone rounds at the center, with clear rhinestone baguettes and tapered baguettes making up the stem. 3" x about 3/4", goldtone setting, marked Pat. Pend. and crown Trifari. Bracelet is 7 3/8" x 3/4" and uses the same configuration of stones, except that there are 3 clears at the floral centers. Plating is somewhat worn on the back of the bracelet, otherwise excellent original condition. The patent for this design dates to 1951.

Description: Trifari Enamel and Faux Turquoise Cabochon Hinged Bracelet and Earrings Set - These 1960's era pieces are marked crown Trifari and copyright symbol; I have seen this design also done with emerald green or dark blue cabochons. The bracelet is an oval shaped clamper with a figure eight safety, 2 3/16" x 1 13/16" x 3/4" wide. The white enamel is more of a creamy white than a dead white and is in very good condition, no dings on the bracelet and only a few on the earring on the left in the picture. The only flaw I can see is on the left earring the enamel is a little dark along the outer edge and isn't shiny like the rest of the piece. This is not noticeable to the casual observer and wouldn't be seen when worn but needs to be noted. The clip earrings are about 1" in diameter and use the standard Trifari clip mechanism from that era. Goldtone setting.

Description: Trifari Clear Rhinestone Adjustable Choker Necklace - Clear Rhinestone necklace done with marquise and round stones, all paste set, with the exception of the stones on the extension chain which are pronged. Lovely design, this may be part of the "Contessa" series. Hook clasp is signed simply Trifari. Silvertone setting, all is in excellent vintage condition. 5/8" wide, maximum extension of 15 1/2", though it would not be difficult to add extra chain if needed. A classic 1950's look.

Description: Trifari Olivine and Black Diamond Rhinestone Brooch - While this design is similar to the "Contessa" series, it is not the same design. The "fleurette" design of 6 round stones surrounding a center round stone is used 6 times around the border of this brooch, with clusters of 4 stones alternating with the fleurettes that are accented with black diamond marquise leaves. The larger center flower of 9 round stones around a larger center olive green stone is also accented with marquise leaves, this time done in olive green, that alternate with single black diamond rounds. 2" in diameter, set in a darkened silvertone. Great any time of year but especially nice for the holidays for an alternative to emerald green. Excellent condition, signed Trifari with crown symbol, this would appear to be an early-mid 1950's piece.

Description: Trifari Opaque Turquoise and Montana Rhinestone Brooch/Clasp and Clip Earrings Set - These pieces match a highly sought-after necklace that was usually done as a brooch/decorative clasp with three strands of beads (see Trifari SN1-936 for the necklace design in white/clear). Button style uses center faux turquoise cab and and perimeter of faux turquoise beads alternating with navy (Montana blue) rhinestones. I replaced a missing navy rhinestone. Earrings are slightly over 1", with usual 1960's era Trifari clip mechanism. Brooch/clasp is about 1 1/2" in diameter. Marked Trifari with crown, silvertone setting. The lack of a copyright symbol on either piece would indicate early 1950's manufacture, though my gut feeling is that these look much more like late 1950's-early 1960's pieces.

Description: Trifari Emerald Green and Clear Rhinestone Earrings - Late 1950's or early 1960's earrings use a pave set leaf outline with a lot of small round green rhinestones. Trifari used a similar leaf design with slightly larger ovals and pears, so this was apparently a popular theme for them. Up the ear design is 1 3/8" x 5/8", excellent condition, with the original pave work in unusually nice shape. I have seen this design called Lutece but I cannot confirm that that is correct.

Description: Trifari Clear Rhinestone Silvertone Brooch and Clip Earrings Set- But not just everyday clear rhinestone clip earrings. If you look at SS1-907 (sold) these earrings are the clear rhinestone version. It should be noted that as far as I know, clear was the only color that this design series was done where all the stones were the same color, and this seems to have also even come in clear with black diamond! Very rarely found. Earrings are 1 1/8" x 3/4", done with rhodium plate instead of the matte finish usually found with this series. Brooch is 1 3/4" in diameter, with a layer of paved leaves that go over the top of the top end of the brooch, giving this a very 3 dimensional aspect (slightly over 1/2" deep.)Very good condition with slight yellowing of some of the stones, rhodium plating. Description: Trifari Clear Rhinestone Floral Fur Clip - Though I cannot find a patent that specifically addresses this piece, there are a number of patented Trifari pieces that use this same floral head in 1939, and this piece is, in fact, marked patent pending (pat. pend.)along with Trifari with crown on the fur clip mechanism and what appears to be copr. on the back of one of the stones. The fur clip mechanism also uses the rolling pin clasp, which is not often found. At 2" x 1 1/4", this is one of the smaller fur clips, and similar clips with the same floral heads are often said to be tremblers, but this one is riveted on as you may be able to see on the back picture, so there is no trembling going on here.(My dear friend and Trifari expert extraordinaire Robin has been kind enough to tell me that this was done with a trembler in 1939, but reissued without in 1948, Pat. # 151,544, at which time many Trifari pieces were marked with the copr. and Pat. Pend. and at this time the rolling clasp was added to several fur clip designs. Thank you Robin!! ) Condition: this came to me with one prong missing; this has been expertly repaired by Victor Weyrich. Plating is fine; some of the small clears have yellowed or greyed as is typical of these pieces; the larger stones are dentelles and in nice shape, except for the one that is at 4 o'clock from the floral head. This appears to be a replacement as it is a chaton and is not in good shape, and I fear the person who did this used (ack!) super glue. Plating looks cracked on back next to this stone but I don't think it is structurally unsound. Hopefully I am not making this sound worse than it is, I would have no problem wearing and enjoying this beautiful piece for years, but I want you, the customer, to have my evaluation before purchasing. Price reflects condition.

Description: Trifari Black Diamond and Clear Rhinestone Necklace and Earrings Set - Fabulous link necklace and earrings use black diamond ovals and clear rhinestone pave set lines. Necklace has a border of black diamond ovals running continuously around the edge of the necklace, topped with clear rhinestone undulating lines, with small rhinestone set link connectors. Adjustable hook and tail, this was difficult to measure accurately due to the built in curve but is about 14" to 16" depending on where you hook it. Earrings use a larger black diamond oval stone, with two clear rhinestone lines wrapped around it, and then bordered with smaller oval black diamonds. Earrings have standard Trifari clip backs and measure about 1 1/8" x 1" Silvertone Trifanium setting. Earrings are marked crown Trifari with copyright, necklace is Trifari with copyright. For those of you who feel that the crown means something in particular, this necklace is one of the most substantial and beautiful Trifari necklaces I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot. When you see it, you won't care whether it has a crown or not. Other than a tiny bit of yellowing on the pave I see no issues here.

Description: Trifari Floral Fur Clip with Pink/Blue/White/Green Enamel - I am pleased to have another one of these for sale, with the enamel in better condition. Des. Pat. No. 121253 from June of 1940, this graceful design measures 3" x 2" and uses pink, light blue, and creamy white enamel for the flowers and two shades of green and brown for the leaves and stems. Slight chipping on the ends of some of the flower petals, enamel on middle flower bud is gone but the two are in fairly good shape. The white enamel looks like it might have been touched up but it is exactly the right color and if it was redone the enamelist forgot to do the flower bud! So I am not certain, but there are a couple of drips of enamel on the back that leads me to wonder if it was redone. Silvertone setting, lots of little accent rhinestones, clip mechanism works well. Marked Trifari on fur clip mechanism, and the patent number on the body of the piece. Our price is considerably less than the asking price on ebay.

Description: Trifari Purple Cabochon and Green Stone Sterling Earrings - This earring was patented in April, 1945 (shortly before the end of WWII) and is marked Trifari on the 40's era clip and Des Pat No. 140798 on the inside body of the clip, as well as Sterling on the "wing" part of the body. A line of clear rhinestones run up the center of the wing portion of the design, and a small section of pave is on the underside. Bottom of design is done with unfoiled purple cabochons alternating with green stones that have soft facets. Vermeil is very slightly worn and certainly mellowed, but is definitely still there, as opposed to so many of these pieces that have lost much or most of their goldwash. Description: Trifari Sterling Demi Parure in Multi Jeweltone/Clear Rhinestones - Highly collectible, this demi parure of necklace, earrings and brooch is marked crown Trifari, with all pieces also being marked Pat. Pend. and sterling. The patent for the brooch, 148,390 was issued Jan. 20, 1948, so if these came on the market prior to the patent being issued, I think it is safe to say that these are mid 1940's, particularly since they are sterling (the marking on the earrings is on the back of the cast piece, not on the lattice backing, and you have to look thru the lattice to see it.) The necklace has a foldover clasp and measures 14 3/4" and is 15/16" at center point. Domed earrings are also 7/8" in diameter and have the usual 1940's earring back. Brooch is 1 3/4" x 1 7/8". Description: Trifari Round and Baguette Necklace & Earrings Set with All Clear Rhinestones - This design was called "Midnight" and is from 1957. The link necklace uses "V" shaped designs using clear baguette rhinestones, that flank a zig zagging center row of small round clear rhinestones. With four V shapes per link, this articulates beautifully for a perfect fit. Extension chain, this will fit up to about a 16" neck. About 3/8" wide. Description: Trifari Syncopation Necklace, Bracelet and Earrings - Summer jewelry from 1957, Syncopation is my favorite of all the white thermoplastic jewelry that Trifari produced. Set in GOLDTONE (this set was also produced in silvertone), the earrings measure 1" x about 3/4", and use what I feel is the "better" clip mechanism that Trifari seems to have used in the 1950's (both are good, but this is just a little more substantial clip). Necklace is adjustable hook, not quite 1" wide, and was difficult to measure accurately but should fit up to a 15" neck (this could be extended quite easily). Bracelet is 7" x 1 1/4". Top sides are in excellent condition, back sides are worn but not badly (and I have never seen any pieces from this design that didn't have plate wear). Description: Incredible Trifari Fuchsia/Black Diamond Rhinestone Parure - The ultimate late 1950's Trifari parure in the most popular color combination in which this design was made. I don't use the word incredible here lightly. Whether this was done by Alfred Philippe or one of the other (probably French) designers hired by Trifari in the 1950's is unknown, and I have never been able to find a Trifari advertisement or patents for this particular design series, yet it is a set worthy of any woman. Link style necklace has adjustable hook and extension chain, up to 16" and almost 1/2" wide. Bracelet is 7" x 5/8", link style with stone set foldover clasp and safety chain. Description: Trifari Crackle Pendant Necklace - Interesting and unusual look for Trifari, this pendant is on its original heavy black cord, pendant portion has a mosaic look around a white center and bail. Back of pendant has the crown Trifari with copyright tiny gold plaque. I'm not sure what material the crackle pieces are, but I am assuming plastic; the solid white portion of the metal on the pendant is enameled metal. Pendant portion is 1 7/8" x 1 1/2", not including bail. Another necklace from this series, called "Mosaics", is featured in one of the "world's most expensive piece of $17 jewelry" ads that were done probably in the 1960's, so probably our price isn't that much more than what you would have paid for the set back then.

Description: Trifari Goldtone/Silvertone "Moderne" Pendant Necklace and Earrings Set - These 1970's-80's sets are gaining in popularity as prices for highend Trifari skyrocket. Description: Crown Trifari "Meteor" Necklace, Bracelet, Brooch and Earring Set - This necklace set must have been a popular seller for Trifari; I believe I have also seen a colored rhinestone version, but this is the much more often found clear rhinestone/goldtone combination. This design was patented in 1949 (a similar necklace design was patented by Trifari in 1953); all four pieces are marked Trifari and patent pending, with the earrings having the crown over the T, so it would seem likely that these were produced late 1940's. Certainly there is a nice transitional feel of part retro, with the volutes and spirals, with a more modern channel set baguette rhinestone look Excellent original condition with mild plating wear on the back on the necklace center where it would rub against the body when worn, very slight wave in pin stem on brooch. Necklace has foldover clasp and measures about 15 1/2", with chain 5mm wide and central motif 2 1/2" x 7/8". Earrings are clip, about 1 1/2" x 1/2". Brooch is 2 3/8" x about 1" at widest point, bracelet is 2 1/4" x 1 7/8" inner diameter, with squared goldtone wire and is about 1" wide at center front.

Description: Crown Trifari Blue Aurora Borealis Rhinestone Earclips - Probably from the late 1950's -early 1960's when aurora borealis stones became the rhinestone of choice, these are in very good to excellent condition and use the top quality clip finding used by Trifari during this time period. The only flaw I can see is that there is some residual glue on one clip finding from an archaic earring pad that I can't dislodge without jeopardizing the silver plate finish. 1" x 13/16".

Description: Crown Trifari Citrine and Topaz Rhinestone Brooch, Necklace and Earrings Demi Parure - Gorgeous early 1950's pieces using teardrop shaped citrine (bright yellow) and golden topaz marquise shaped rhinestones, with clear baguettes and rounds. Necklace uses round snake chain. for the sides, foldover clasp, with five rhinestone set foliate motif sections connected by single baguette links, with a pave set circle on either end. Necklace is about 15 1/4" with the foliate sections being about 7/8" long. Brooch is domed, about 2" in diameter, with topaz marquises and a single round make a small floral at the top center, from which radiate 6 baguette and round "spokes" separated by citrine pears. The earrings use the same stone configuration with curving baguette set channels surrounded by citrine pears and topaz marquises and accented with tiny clears, 7/8" x 1 1/8". Clip mechanisms are the better quality ones (see picture) marked Trifari with a crown. Brooch and necklace are marked crown Trifari Pat. Pend. Plating is somewhat worn on earrings and brooch but necklace plating is great. Wonderful, sunny looking set.

Description: Trifari Philippe Pastel Enamel Fur Clip - Marked with "Des. Pat No." and 119105, this design dates to February of 1940 and is one of the popular early enameled floral fur clip series. At 2 1/4" x 2", this is about average size for this genre. Pink yellow and medium blue flowers are enhanced with dark green leaves, brown and green stems, and a darker blue bow. Small clears are scattered throughout the piece, and the center of the larger pink flower uses a tiny gumdrop cabochon in emerald green. Clear stones are all original. The flowers all show mild to moderate enamel loss as seen in the picture but the leaves, stems and bow show little if any wear. Plating shows signs of wear but is mild. Price reflects noted condition.

Description: Trifari Goldtone Flowing Brooch - This tailored looking brooch is large (3 3/8" x 1 3/8") and in apparently unworn condition. Perfect for work or for the person with elegant, understated taste. And the price is right! See also identical piece in silvertone. Trifari ran magazine advertising in 1965 called "Blondes" which promoted the idea of buying brooches that were made in your choice of "golden blonde" (goldtone) or "platinum blonde" (silvertone). This is possibly from this series, though I have seen a 1966 catalog ad using this actual design, from the series called "Gold Rush". I have also seen this design in white enamel on goldtone.

Description: Trifari Alfred Philippe Smokey Topaz/Black Diamond Rhinestone Floral Brooch - There are those who turn up their noses at 1950's-1960's Trifari, probably because they have not seen the top of the line pieces. This is a color variation of the fuchsia/black diamond parure seen in Deanna Farneti Cera's "Amazing Gems"; this color combination is MUCH more difficult to find. Dark brown oval rhinestones comprise the petals, with the edges, center and stem of the flower done in black diamond rhinestone pave. Plating is a muted goldtone that I have only seen on this particular design series. Marked Trifari with crown and copyright symbol, this measures about 2 5/8" x 2". The quantity of stones and attention to detail makes this a particularly lovely piece. Excellent condition, with a few stones replaced but you will not be able to tell which.

Both brooch and earrings use mostly clear baguettes and octagonal blue rhinestones, with a sprinkling of clear round accent stones. Silvertone Trifanium plating, all stones are original and everything is in excellent condition. Brooch is 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" at widest point. A wonderful set.

Description: Trifari Philippe Floral Fur Clip - One of Trifari's most popular circa 1940's pieces were the fur clips with a floral theme. I am guessing these are stylized violets, but whatever they are they are lovely. Most of the piece uses the two-tone (or more) enameling for which Trifari (and Coro) were justly famous. The heart shaped leaves use two shades of olive green enameling, with the veins and the edges traced with a green-aqua and turned tips pave set with clear rhinestones. Stems also use brown enameling highlighted with the aqua green, tied with a pave set ribbon and single clears on the end. The left flower is done in various shades of purple with white highlights. Only the yellow flower is a solid color with no highlights. I originally thought the yellow was re-done but I have since seen one or two others done this same way. Older crown Trifari signature, silvertone plating, all stones appear original.

Description: Trifari Sterling Philippe Jelly Belly Sailboat Brooch - This is one of the few jelly belly pieces that Alfred Philippe designed for Trifari that did not use an animal/insect theme. Description: Trifari Sterling Vermeil Retro Bracelet with Aqua and Clear Stones - While I was unable to find a patent for this particular design, I think it is safe to assume this is circa mid 1940's. Sterling links set with a line of clear rhinestones alternate with unfoiled aqua glass stones prong set on either side of the linkage. As with most vermeil plating from this time period, this shows signs of wear, and the plating on the back of the connecting links has pretty much worn away. I replaced several missing clear stones, but the vast majority are original. Aqua stones are in excellent shape and a lovely color. Slightly over 7" x 1/2", this is, like most older Trifari, lovely and a fine jewelry look which is complimentary to most women.

Description: Trifari Brooch and Earrings in Multi-Blue Rhinestones - Quality 1960's pieces, probably late Philippe, with the "filled-in" dome earrings used on the top quality sets of this era. While my flash camera makes the difference in the blues in the different cuts of stones quite obvious, in person you will find these differences to be much more subtle, particularly on the earrings. The brooch uses octagonal (emerald) cuts in different sizes while the earrings seem to be pretty much one size; all pieces use an occasional small blue round; both brooches have paved "ribbon" designs. All stones appear to be original, even the pave. Goldtone Trifanium plating is heavy and very close to pristine. Excellent quality, condition and design. Top Trifari continues to disappear into private collections and will probably not re-emerge for a long time.

Description: Trifari Star Pin and Earrings Set - Top quality 1960's Trifari from the end of the Alfred Philippe era. All emerald green oval rhinestones are paste set in all pieces with feathery goldtone plumes as accents. Whether this is to represent seaweed growing over a starfish is unknown - we'll let you decide the interpretation. Absolutely flawless pieces, earrings are 7/8" in diameter, typical clip mechanisms for this era. Brooch is 2 5/8" in diameter. The best Trifari pieces are being snapped up by astute collectors; if you love emerald green these are definitely to be prized.

Description: Trifari Jewels of India Set - I have seen these Trifari pieces with various names - Jewels of India, Moghul, Scherezade, etc., so I am not exactly sure which these are; however, this set is pristine as far as I can tell. Matte goldtone finish; stones are emerald green rhinestone marquises and ruby colored square cabochons that I have only seen on Trifari pieces. These would appear to be the 1960's re-issue pieces.

Description: Trifari Earrings with Smarged Royal Blue Pear Cab Beads - This would appear to be a floral theme, with two large unfaceted lampworked beads on each earring shaped like an egg with swirls inside, similar to stones that simulate sapphires that are referred to as smarged or flawed (intentionally). Accented with clear marquises under darker goldtone leaves; these use the wonderful 1950's clip mechanisms. 1" x 1", super original condition. Description: Trifari Curved Clear Baguette and Round Rhinestone Link Necklace-A well known and sought after design, called "Lightning", done in 1961, and probably from the design table of Alfred Philippe, this piece originally sold for $25.00 almost 50 years ago. Ingeniously engineered link design alternates two rows of thin baguettes with rounds in such a way that you have a naturally curved piece. Description: Trifari Baguette and Round Rhinestone Linked Choker and Bracelet Set - A truly elegant set, probably a Philippe design, made to look like fine jewelry. Nine graduated clear baguette rhinestones are paste set in each full link (and there are 12 in the necklace, 5 full links in the bracelet, plus a divided link with foldover clasp); those links are connected by a single round rhinestone fancy cut dentelle link. Over 180 stones in this set; all set in Trifari's patented rhodium plating. Necklace has djustable hook clasp, will fit up to a 16 1/2" neck; bracelet is 7 1/4". A note to those of you interested in top notich design, the necklace has links that curve on one side to make the necklace fit the curve of the neck, while the bracelet curves outward on both sides so it will lie properly on your wrist. Obviously well thought thru by a master jeweler. The real McCoy would be thousands of dollars; you don't have to tell! While similar to the pattern "Rhapsody" from 1955, this is not the same as it uses the single round stone in between links rather than a baguette set connector.
