Sarah Coventry - Emmons
Both Sarah Coventry and its predecessor line, Emmons, were "home party" jewelry companies, i.e. the jewelry was sold at parties given in "hostess"'es homes. Sarah Coventry was widely sold in the 1950's and 1960's, with a replacement guarantee; thus the jewelry was well made and for the most part usually stands the test of time extremely well. It was relatively expensive for the time and usually tailored in design, aimed at the newly emerging market of working women in the US. Sarah Coventry has several different markings, including SARAH, Sarah Cov, and SC.
More recent Sarah Coventry was sold in Wal-Mart (while owned by Hefner Enterprises) and re-emerged, once again, as a home party line a few years ago. The company has now succombed and has closed.. All of the pieces here, I believe, are 1970's or earlier.

Description: Sarah Coventry "Celebrity" Bracelet and Earrings Set - This well known and desirable SC set apparently also has a matching pin/pendant and ring, if you wish to search online to find, but this is the bracelet and earrings set. Bracelet is a link style with a large foldover clasp, 7 1/4" x 1 1/2"; matching clip earrings are 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". Silvertone setting with large unfoiled black diamond emerald cut stones, surrounded by 3 and 4mm black diamond rhinestones. Excellent condition - a few of the rhinestones were missing so I replaced them all for uniformity, safety chain was broken so I have also replaced it. Description: Sarah Coventry "High Fashion" Brooch - At 4 3/4" x 1", this may be the largest brooch that SC did. I have only seen it in these colors, a large smokey topaz marquise at the top, accented with clear rhinestone leaves and border. Goldtone setting. Signed copyright SarahCov. Description: Sarah Coventry "Mosaic" Earrings - These match one of SC's top brooches that is in the shape of a Maltese cross. Dark olive green cabochons with small splotches of brick red are surrounded by two rows of goldtone rope. 1" x 7/8", they have the usual padded SC ear clips and are signed Sarah Cov under a copyright symbol, and then the back of the clips also say Pat. Description: Sarah Coventry "Versaille(sic)" Bracelet and Earrings Set with Original Box/Card -I am pleased to be able to offer a second identical set to SS1-370, this time with the earrings on the original card with the original box. Excellent condition, I don't believe the earrings have ever been off of the carding. Box is in very good condition as well, with just a little edge wear. Description: Sarah Coventry Fashion Flower Brooch & Earrings Set - One of SC's most popular sets because it uses red aurora borealis rhinestones, this light goldtone set uses a floral motif that is very three dimensional. Using curved filigree pieces as petals and centering the pieces with round siam AB rhinestones, each piece has a large stone in the center, and the brooch has a single stone accenting the open leaves. The brooch is 3 7/8" x 1 3/4" x 1/2+" deep. Earrings are 1 1/8" in diameter and about 1/2" deep (I believe these are the smaller of the two earring styles that match this design series). Description: Sarah Coventry Blue Lagoon Brooch - From 1964, one of the most popular of SC collectors' pieces, this was the design that was sold to the public, while a hostess gift brooch (could not be purchased by general public) similar in style but "squattier" was only available to hostesses. Presumably this was sold with a set of three earrings, one of could be inserted in the top of this brooch for a more 3 dimensional effect for evening wear. Inner row of sapphire blue rhinestones is surrounded by a second row of light sapphire rhinestones, and then all is bordered with irridescent blue navettes and a single round at the top. Silvertone (rhodium?) plating, all stones prong set, slightly domed. 2 1/2" x 1 5/8". Very good condition with just the slightest of aging to the light blue stones. Description: Sarah Coventry "Nature's Choice" Earrings - Done in silvertone and goldtone, (with a more marked difference between the two in person) these clip earrings are in excellent shape and the design is lovely (in fact I have seen a Boucher design that is almost identical to this except I believe there are rhinestones on the center vein.) About 1 1/4" x 1". If two-tone pieces are your "thang" this would be an excellent addition to your wardrobe. I don't normally carry the plainer pieces of SC but these are too nice to pass up. Description: Sarah Coventry Fashion Parade Necklace and Earring Set - Pendant style necklace and matching earrings - pendant is unusual in that it has it's own jump ring so it can be detached from the chain (perhaps originally on a different chain???) 18" goldtone curb-type chain has Sarah Coventry metal hang tag. Clip earrings use smaller baroque type glass pearl; one pearl has a small ding in the pearlesence on the back underside where it does not show. Chain has dulled with time, otherwise in excellent original condition, but price reflects these very small flaws. It is my understanding that this grouping also came with a stick pin and a ring. Description: Sarah Coventry "Carnival" Brooch and Earrings Set - Apparently SC used this design name on more than one style. This uses navy, red, and dark moss green round cabochons in goldtone. Marked on clip finding Sarah Cov with copyright mark; stamping is light, but there.Brooch is marked Sarah Cov with copyright mark, also, and is about 2 1/4" in diameter; earrings are about 1 1/8" in diameter. Description: Sarah Coventry "Wisteria" Brooch and Clip Earring Set - A pretty combination of large 6mm rhinestones in pink and purple, set in a matte finished silvertone, in an abstract floral design. Description: Sarah Coventry "Contessa" Pin Pendant - One of the most sought after of the SC pieces, no comprehensive collection should be without it. Very pretty glass faux opal has a mix of pinks, purple, yellow and a little green, which is enhanced with a frame set with pink, purple and olive green rhinestones. Gold-brass setting, 3" x 1 3/4" including free swinging piece at bottom. This can be worn as a brooch or put on a chain (not included) to use as a pendant necklace. Excellent condition.
