Mazer-Jomaz
The Mazer family moved to the US from Russia; there were 7 sons in the family. Exactly how many of the sons entered the jewelry business and/or worked in the Mazer family business is not known to this writer, but the company was originally known as "Mazer Brothers" with the signature used usually being Mazer Bros. Eventually Joseph Mazer went on to open a separate company and the logo was eventually shortened to Jomaz. The company was run by Joseph Mazer's son in the 1950's and 60's, and after his death run for a short time by his widow.
Regardless of the mark, almost anything with the Mazer/Mazer Bros./Jomaz signature is a piece of beautiful design and quality.

Description: Mazer Brothers Dark Blue Baguette Choker with Rhinestone Set Clasp - Elegant choker necklace with rhinestone set foldover clasp that can be worn in either the front or the back. Prong set navy blue baguettes run the entire length of the necklace, terminating in the single clear squares at either end of the clasp. 15", about 1/8" wide, this is made to sit at the base of your neck, or if your neck is a little larger could possibly work as a narrow dog collar. Put this with a navy special occasion dress with a lower neckline and you will have a classic look. Item: SN14-1319 Price: $85.00 US Sorry, SOLD! ![]() |

Description: Blue Cabochon and Clear RS Necklace, Unsigned Jomaz - Very unusual cabochon necklace with rhinestone links and pave set castings. Twelve pronged glass cabochons each have four rhinestone set leaves; these links are linked with links set with three clear rhinestones. Metal has darkened either by time or design on the top side, while underneath seems to be shiny silver plating. Adjustable hook style, with rhinestone set tail ending in a clear rhinestone pear drop - hook is also rhinestone set with clear baguettes. The cabochons get their unusual grey blue color that imitates chalcedony from dark blue foiling on the underside. One cabochon shows loss of about half of that foiling; one other has a small foiling ding. These flaws are only apparent when held up to backlighting and scrutinized carefully and do not show when worn. Fits up to 15" neck and would be extendable very easily on the hook end. Some of the small clear rhinestones have darkened. I have recently seen a red version of this set, with matching earrings. The earrings were signed Jomaz, the necklace was not, and I have also now seen the matching bracelet in this same blue, which was signed. Item: UN12-400 Price: $59.50 US Sorry, SOLD! ![]() |

Description: Mazer Brothers Clear Rhinestone Bracelet and Earrings Set - Apparently the Mazer Brothers signature indicates earlier jewelry for this company, before Joseph left to start Jomaz. This also uses a type of "band" on the bracelet that is found on Boucher pieces; Boucher worked for Mazer before striking out on his own, as well. Bracelet has a center motif of loops using clear pave and channel set baguettes, with two baguette lines culminating in fancy cut pears. Sides are a double line of prong set octagons, with fancy terminals on both ends. Foldover clasp is marked Mazer Brothers; safety chain. Wearable length 7", 1 1/4" at widest point. Earring clips are marked Mazer and feature the same channel set baguette loop and baguette lines that end with fancy cut pears. 1 1/2" x 5/8", excellent original condition, heavy rhodium plate. Lovely set. Item: SS2-1006 Price: $195.00 US Sorry, SOLD! ![]() ![]() |
Description: Mazer Brothers Light Sapphire/Clear Rhinestone Earrings - Elegant. At 7/8" x 1/4" these are some of the smallest clip earrings I have ever offered. Three rows of light sapphire octagonals, two in each row, sit atop two horizontal clear baguettes, and are topped with a single clear round rhinestone. Silvertone setting, excellent condition.

Description: Mazer Front and Back Rhinestone & Pearl Earrings - One of the coolest pairs of earrings I've had, these clip so that the shorter part is in front of the ear, and the longer part hangs down behind the ear. The effect is elegant and very wearable, perfect for the bride or going out to dinner in your favorite black dress. Rhodium plate, and in excellent original condition. 1 3/8" at longest point, each section is about 3/8" at the widest point. Glass pearls are a light cream. Item: SE1-797 Price: $49.50 US Sorry, SOLD! |

Description: Mazer Faux Alexandrite Choker Necklace - This changes from light blue (with almost a slight aqua cast) to a beautiful lavender depending on the light source you are in. Rectangular stones alternate with step cut squares along the entire length of the piece except for clasp. Foldover clasp has round and baguette clear rhinestones. All stones are prong set except for the small clears. Clasp is marked Mazer Bros. 14 3/4" long, 3/16" wide, silvertone setting. Very good condition, with mild wear to plating, slight fading of one or two of the square stones, and the pave on the clasp has yellowed somewhat. Same design as the Mazer bracelet in topaz SB10-701. Item: SN10-740 Price: $89.50 US Sorry, SOLD! ![]() |
Description: Mazer Bros Topaz Rhinestone Bracelet - A lovely and wearable "line" type bracelet that alternates prongset baguettes and stepped cut square stones (these actually have squared corners so would be considered octagonal). The square stones are a slightly more intense shade of topaz so that the bracelet is more interesting looking. Though the piece is goldtone, the pave set clasp is silvertone (just like fine jewelry) and the foldover connector is also rhinestone set. Safety chain looks to be original, with a "thumbless" spring ring. Wearable length is just shy of 7". Outside of plating wear on the backside where it would rub against the skin, I see no problems here. All stones are original. Item: SB10-701 Price: $49.50 US Sorry, SOLD! |

Description: Mazer Double Clip (Duette) - While Coro and Trifari (Clipmates) were the most well known and prolific of the designers of duettes, there were other major companies that made them, though they are much more rare and difficult to find. This lovely piece has a floral and bow motif, with the dress clips sliding on to the frame rather than clipping in. Frame is marked U.S. Pat. 2,143,538; dress clips are marked Mazer Bros and one has the number 9. 2 3/4" x 1 1/4". Some of the stones are greying but still lots of sparkle here. Clear rhinestones, probably rhodium plating. Marcel Boucher worked for Mazer Bros. before going out on his own, and patented similar frames and clip mechanisms for the firm, though the 1938 patent here belongs to Boucher alone. Currently shown on a high end site for almost double what I have priced this one. Item: SD5-630 Price: $125.00 US Sorry, SOLD! |

Description: Jomaz Enamel, Rhinestone and Faux Turquoise Brooch and Earring Set - The epitome of early 1960's glamour, this set features cream and aqua enamel, clear rhinestone pave and glass faux turquoise cabochons. Brooch measures 2 3/4" x 1 1/4"; clip earrings are 1 1/8" x 3/4". Goldtone setting, close to mint condition, truly elegant, in the style of Jacqueline Kennedy. If you love fashion from this era, it really doesn't get much better than this. Item: SS8-554 Price: $195.00 US |
Description: Jomaz Brooch with Jonquil, Lime and Faux Alexandrite Rhinestones - Popular in the 1960's, this piece uses the color change square rhinestones that go from light blue to lavender when you go from fluorescent to incandescent lighting, also lime green rhinestone squares and jonquil yellow pear rhinestones. The clear pave rhinestones used on the "swirl" have darkened and could be replaced if that bothered you, but this is otherwise in excellent original condition. A mix of goldtone and silvertone setting, a la fine jewelry, measuring about 1 /34" in diameter. A top quality piece made to look like the real thing. Item: SP3-304 Price: $95.00 US Sorry, SOLD! ![]() |

Description: Jomaz Clear Rhinestone Scalloped Link Necklace - What may look like black on your monitor is actually reflection - this is actually pristine rhodium plate, set with tiny clear rhinestones; pattern goes completely around and has a hidden foldover clasp that is slightly larger than the rhinestone set connector links you see in the picture. Approximately 287 rhinestones in this piece, I can't find any that are missing or not original. Item: SN5-169 Price: $85.00 US |
Description: Mazer Bros. Clear Baguette Rhinestone Necklace - All the stones in this piece are either baguettes or tapered baguettes, with the exception of the squares and rounds used at the foldover clasp. Heavy rhodium plate, excellent quality. Small solder repair at clasp. This is a small necklace, hard to measure because of the curved center motif, but this should fit a 14" neck. Item: SN3-209 Price: $75.00 US Sorry, SOLD! |

This lovely design is done with two sizes of round clear rhinestones, clear baguettes, tapered baguettes and cushion-cut square rhinestones, and finished in heavy rhodium plate. All stones are original, two pave rhinestones are missing and I will replace if you would prefer, though I would recommend leaving as is. Slight darkening on a few of the pave stones, and one of the cushion cut squares has yellowed slightly. Can be worn as a brooch or added to a chain as a pendant (self-bail on reverse). 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" at widest points and is 3-D. From my personal collection. Description: Jomaz Goldtone/Silvertone Floral Brooch - Done with a fine jewelry look using a matte goldtone for the main part of the flower and silvertone setting for the pave rhinestone leaves and floral center. Stems are a shiny goldtone. Almost 2" x 1 1/4"; stones have yellowed/darkened somewhat over the years but still have plenty of sparkle. All appears to be original. Very tiny amount of plating loss on back of one stem (see backside picture). What appears to be pitting on back of flower is a reflection and NOT there in person. Item: SP3-492 Price: $67.50 US |
Description: Mazer Clear Rhinestone Floral Brooch with Open Design - This cut-out design is absolutely beautiful, a testament to why Mazer is such a sought-after vintage line. Rhodium plated, 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" with a 3 dimensional floral "head". All stones appear to be original; as typical a few stones have darkened but this doesn't detract. One tiny area of plating loss on the back of the floral stem (can be seen on backside picture). Item: SP3-491 Price: $59.50 US Sorry, SOLD! |
